Although not purely American-made Cobra 427 is one of the most famous Muscle car ever made. Based on the British AC Ace roadster that is light, the Cobra was the brainchild of car legend Carroll Shelby, and that was basically created by shoehorning a Ford engine under the hood of the giant air conditioner. The end result is a scary fast roadster that is also very successful on the track. Today, this car is always perched on the car auction houses around the world.

Beauty of the Shelby Cobra is that it betrothed big American muscle into a small British isles roadster within a package much easier and less costly than the European competition.
